Gunnersauras' Blog

Wow. What a busy pre-season! The road show finally came to an end after I met thousands of Arsenal fans and fans from clubs all around the country over the last six weeks. We had a few friendly matches before the season started and I went down to Chesham United to see an Arsenal XI win 6-2.

Sadly we lost Robin and Alex before the start of the season, but I am looking forward to meeting new arrivals Santi Cazorla, Oliver Giroud and Lukas Podolski.

I couldn’t wait to get back into action for our first league game at home to Sunderland. I met our mascots as they arrived for their special day, and of course the players as they came off the team bus. I had all of my usual duties to do, but it was a little disappointing only to draw the game 0-0.

Next up were two Under-21 matches at Emirates Stadium against Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers. It was still the school holidays so I had lots of young Arsenal fans to meet before kick-off. We won both matches and had crowds of more than 5,000.

Our second league game was another tough encounter against Stoke City, which also ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Arsenal Ladies invited me down to Boreham Wood FC for an FA football festival where girls of all ages took part in fun training sessions. We all stayed on after to watch Laura Harvey's side draw 1-1 with Bristol Ladies.

Then it was back to Premier League action and finally a victory. We beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield. The goals came from two of our new signings, Cazorla and Podolski.

Later this week I’m off to the training ground at London Colney for our first-team picture where I get to join in with some of our young Junior Gunners.
