Premier League Overview



Premier League is basically an English Professional league for association football Clubs, established in 1992. It is the country's most important football competition by 20 clubs and actually works on the system of promotion and relegation with the football league. 20 members clubs act as stakeholders in Premier League. It’s commonly referred as English Premier League (EPL) outside of England and is considered as the Major League of English Soccer.



Season for Premier League is from August to May, each team play twice with other team that’s totally around 380 games for the whole season. In EPL clubs are ranked as a whole group and there are no divisions. The point system used to decide who goes up or down in the Ranking is pretty simple: Win worth 3 points, tie worth 1 and loss worth none.







Mostly the matches are played on Saturdays and the Sundays and only few matches held on weekday’s evenings. It also having the owner of most watched Football League in the world, broadcast in around 212 Countries to an audience of 643 million viewers. During the season of 2010-2011 ,average Premier League match attendance was around 35,363, the second highest of any professional football league  after the German Bundesliga, and occupancy of Stadium was 92.2%. 





In the Premier League season 2012-2013 around 20 clubs are participated, includes Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers, Reading, Southampton, Stoke City, Sunderland, Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United and Wigan Athletic. The current champion for EPL is Manchester City, who won the title in the 2011–12 seasons.
