Arsenal FC is an English Premier League football club based in Holloway, London. The club was founded in 1886 as Dial square by workers at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, south-east London. Arsenal Football Club joined The Football League in 1893 and remained in the English top flight for the longest uninterrupted period. It was renamed to Royal Arsenal and Woolwich Arsenal before settling on Arsenal.

There have been eighteen permanent and five caretaker managers of Arsenal. Thomas Mitchell is the clubs first professional manager in 1897.Arsene Wenger, is longest-serving manager as of 2009, who was appointed in 1996.Wenger is also Arsenals only manager outside the United Kingdom. Two arsenal managers have died in job –Herbert Chapman and Tom Whittaker.    

Nicknamed as 'The Gunners', they have achieved 10 First Division, 3 Premier League and 10 FA Cup titles.They have also won European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1993-94, 2 League Cups and 12 FA Community Shield.
